TSB Controls Guide

Why controls come first

The Strongest Battlegrounds is a timing fighter. If punch, block, and dash are fuzzy, no Tier List placement will save you. This page documents the default PC bindings most guides assume, then covers mobile and console realities. Pair it with Getting Started for early habits and the Tools Hub for related references.

PC controls table

ActionDefault inputWhat it is for
Punch / M1Left mouse button (LMB)Your basic string starter and confirm tool
BlockFReduce incoming damage; hold with intent, do not panic mash
DashQEscape pressure, close gaps, mix timing
Ragdoll cancelQ while ragdolledSpend the dash window to recover sooner after a launch
UltimateGFire your character’s ultimate when the meter allows
RunDouble-tap WSprint for rotations and extended neutral
EmoteBExpression / taunt (extra slots are a gamepass)

Internalize the dual use of Q: in neutral it dashes; while ragdolled it attempts a ragdoll cancel. Missing that distinction is a common beginner leak.

How to practice each input

Punch (LMB)

Practice clean M1 timings in a private lobby before chaining abilities. Whiffed punches are free punish fuel for strong players. Use Private Server Commands (/respawn, /bring) to reset drills quickly.

Block (F)

Block is not immortality. Learn what your character can safely block and when to drop block to punish. Holding F forever loses to throws/mix depending on kit—study patterns under Players.

Dash (Q)

Dash creates space or steals turns. Over-dashing into a read gets you clipped. Drill dash-in and dash-out against a friend who only punishes greedy dashes.

Ragdoll cancel (Q while ragdolled)

When you are launched, tapping Q at the right moment can shorten downtime. Spam without timing still leaves you vulnerable. Watch replays of yourself eating extended combos and note whether a cancel window existed.

Ultimate (G)

Ultimates win rounds when converted from real pressure—not when pressed in panic at fullscreen. Learn your character’s ultimate startup and follow-up on the Tier List context pages and kit guides as you expand the wiki.

Run (double-tap W)

Running repositions after a knockdown or when rotating mid lanes on larger maps. Do not run blindly into someone’s anti-air or long-range tool.

Emote (B)

Emotes are social. Extra slots come from the Emote Slots gamepass—see Gamepass Value. Never emote in a window where you should be blocking.

Mobile controls notes

Mobile uses on-screen buttons for the same actions: attack, block, dash, ultimate, movement stick, and emote. Practical tips:

  • Enable a comfortable UI scale so Block and Dash are not under your attack thumb.
  • Expect higher input latency than a wired mouse; play slightly safer in block/dash decisions.
  • Paste Kill Sound IDs from a browser clipboard when customizing audio—controls and cosmetics are separate systems (How to Set a Kill Sound).
  • If your thumbs slip, reduce simultaneous gestures; prioritize Block + Dash accuracy over fancy movement.

Console controls notes

Controller layouts map punch, block, dash, ultimate, and emote to face buttons and bumpers depending on Roblox/TSB’s current mapping. Principles stay identical:

  • Keep block on a finger you can hold without releasing movement entirely.
  • Learn the ragdoll-cancel button as the same control as dash, used in the ragdolled state.
  • Double-tap forward equivalents handle run.
  • Consider practicing advanced movement on PC if you plan high-level play, but console is fully viable for learning kit routes.

Training routine (15 minutes)

  1. 2 minutes — M1 only, movement with run.
  2. 3 minutes — Block reactions to a friend’s slow strings.
  3. 3 minutes — Dash in/out after every blocked string.
  4. 3 minutes — Intentional ragdoll cancel after agreeing to a launcher.
  5. 2 minutes — Ultimate only when a real confirm appears.
  6. 2 minutes — Free spar, no emotes.

Host that routine with Private Servers+ tools from Private Server Commands. If you are deciding whether the pass is worth it solely for drills, read Gamepass Value.

Common control mistakes

  • Treating dash and ragdoll cancel as unrelated keys.
  • Holding block during clearly unblockable or throw-mix situations without adapting.
  • Pressing ultimate as a get-out-of-jail button.
  • Running with double-tap W straight into pressure.
  • Rebinding mid-tournament without muscle-memory rebuild time.

Master these defaults until they are boring. Boring inputs win more sets than flashy misclicks.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for combat, codes, and ranked play.

What is the default punch button on PC?

Left mouse button (LMB). It is your basic M1 attack.

How do I ragdoll cancel?

Press Q while ragdolled—the same key as dash, used in the ragdoll state to recover sooner.

What key uses my ultimate?

G on PC by default. Wait for a real confirm instead of panic ultimates.

How do I run?

Double-tap W on PC to sprint. Use run for rotation, not blind charges into pressure.

Is emote useful in combat?

Emote (B) is social. Extra slots are cosmetic convenience and do not improve frame data.
